Pill/mirena, periods stopped, advice

I was taking the mini pill for 5 weeks. Stopped a week prior to insertion of the mirena coil as the mini pill was triggering migraines.

I was due to start my period the day after my mirena coil was inserted and it hasnt come, day 35 now. Period is always between 26 and 29 days.

I bled when taking the mini pill but for longer than I normally would and heavier.

I'm finding it strange that I havent had a period now as I had stopped the mini pill and the mirena hormone wouldnt have stopped it yet.

I bled slightly on day of insertion due to significant trauma at insertion.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I feel full and crampy. Just nothing is happening.

I was due a period 2-3 days after having my mirena put in - it didn't come. I haven't had a period since, and it's now been almost 3 years! 😂

So it is possible. Hope that puts your mind at rest xx

A friend has just said she had a similar experience to you.

I think when you've had one experience, even though logically you know no two experiences are the same, you'll compare them, and think but why?

And I expect there may be some of the mini pill hormone in me as well as the coil now!

I just posted about a merina too! Oops! When I had mine put in the first month period came about two weeks late! Then I had two periods and now mine seems to have stopped though still have period belly and a bit of cramping. I think also as the coil puts the hormone direct in to your uterus rather than via the bloodstream like the pill it is more effective? (I may have made that up!)

I think I just need to appreciate that I'm not bleeding. The bloatings uncomfortable and the twinges are intermittent instead of constant cramps. I think I'll just go with that and stop analysing it 😂
