Bleeding on decapeptyl injection endometriosis

Hey all,

I've been diagnosed with severe endometriosis, affecting almost everything such as my ovaries, bowel, womb etc which as all stuck together.

I have been given the decapeptyl injection a month ago, but I've just been bleeding constantly since. Just wondered if this is normal? I give up on my GP now, no one seems to even care anymore.

Any advice will be great

Thanks ☺️

Hi my first decepeptyl injection gave me really bad bleeding for the first 2 weeks but after that I stopped bleeding heavy and no labour like pains. I did initially think why on earth did I have this injection as my main problems were bleeding through clothes and horrific pain. Now had injection number 6, bleeding now and thinking about stopping it. I would say it worked for a few months for me and it’s definitely worth a try 🥰

Are you waiting for a hysterectomy?

I am x

Hey Thanks for the reply.

I had bleeding for 7 days after 2 weeks of the injection, then it stopped but it's started again 🙄 I'm just fed up really. My GP just says "see how you are in a couple days" everytime I contact them.

I've got surgery in November to try and un stick everything but I'm not sure how successful it will be as it's so bad ☹️ they can only see one ovary.. the other is somewhere within all the mass.

When are you having a hysterectomy? Is yours due to severe endo?

Xx

Hi I hope to get a hysterectomy in the next 6 months. It’s because I have adenomyosis, a hysterectomy cures that but doesn’t cure endometriosis.

How old are you?

I am asking as I get taken seriously by my GP and others I have seen and I am 39. I read a lot about younger women not being taken seriously x 🥲

I'm 33 now, but been going to doctors about it for years. It's only because they finally sent me for a scan as I had sharp pain in my right side they saw a cyst. But then when I had my laparoscopy they saw my appendix had actually destroyed itself too! And everything is glued together.

I'm Glad you get taken seriously by your GP, I hear loads of stories about others not being listened to. It's awful. I hope it all goes well for you in the future 🤞 x

Thank you, you too. That’s how my pain started at first, the right hand sided pain and they thought it was the appendix x

These injections won’t really help severe endo. You need to be treated at a bsge centre. If you’re not at one your gynae should have referred you over and your gp can.
