Just a question i wanted to ask. I suffer from terrible sciatica, I was wondering if the endo can affect the nerves involved in sciatica? It would explain a lot for me. I know endo can spread to different parts of the body im just hoping this is not the case for me. Many thanks x

Sciatica
Hi.. I have bad sciatica that has been chronic since 2018. I had mri that found cysts which led to laparoscopy which diagnosed endometriosis. I still suffered with sciatic pain so had a second surgery with a specialist who says he looked as deep as he could but found no endo on nerves. I’m still suffering with bad sciatic pain and have been waiting since January for a referral to pelvic physio. I’m still convinced it’s something to do with endo but have no proof so just here suffering. I feel for you, if you need to talk msg me. Sorry you’re going through this x
Yes, it can - and this was how my stage 4 endo was actually diagnosed! A laparoscopy and hysterectomy did not stop the sciatic pain (although they were needed for other reasons) but checking my hormone levels, taking progesterone (my sciatic pain is only during my follicular phase when it is debilitating and was due to an oestrogen dominance) and working with a pelvic physio means I am almost pain-free.
