I'm on the pill, I have to take 2 a day to help treat possible endometriosis. I haven't had a period for 3 months now but I'm in agony everyday and have been having brown discharge and chunks of flesh coming out of me everyday for 8 weeks, I've rung the doctors to ask for help and they tell me it's normal to have brown discharge when I'm on the pill. But it doesn't seem right to me because I'm feeling so ill the longer it's happening. Can anyone help me or give me some advice on what to do? Thank you

Hiya! Firstly, I'm sorry that you're having a crappy time!
I got put on double dosage of progesterone only pill in March and have had the same thing really. There seems to be lots of brown discharge that's really thick and spotting almost all the time. I also had a couple of really bad bleeds with it, one of which ended me up in A&E. My specialist sent me for an ultrasound to check there wasn't any residual blood build up from when I'd had the bigger bleeds. Luckily there wasn't and she ended up suggesting there's a good chance I'm actually just still ovulating a bit (which is a good thing fertility wise).
I ended up being put on HRT patches to balance out the hormones for my moods etc but they do seem to have helped clear up the spotting, or it could be a case of I've been on the pill long enough it's settled down now... still in all the pain though!
I'd suggest to keep trying to see a GP, because if the pill isn't working for you, for any reason at all, they should suggest alternative methods to help you!
Good luck with it all!
I'm so sorry to hear you're not getting the proper treatment from the doctor. The best thing I would recommend which got me taken a lot more seriously and seen to quickly, was going to the Emergency Gynaecology unit at the hospital (or A&E)- it skipped the whole long process of waiting to be referred by the doctor (which takes ages where I am!) and I got seen by a gynaecology doctor straight away, which has started up a process of treatment and investigation. It sounds like what's happening to you is definitely not normal, and you need to be seen to. I hope you can get the treatment you need and get better soon x
Gosh, how terrible, so sorry to read about your experience It seems like the treatment isn't working for you. Are combined contraceptive pills not an option?
They have tried that to they don't help at all sadly xx
Even taking them back-to-back? The only way I felt relief was to not bleed. Not all gynaes recommend that because they're not aware of it as a form of treatment. Only endo-specialists have recommended doing that and it was the only thing that helped x
