I'm suffering from both endometriosis and hormone migraines (before or during the first days of my period). My GP doesn't seem too interested in helping, possibly due to lack of knowledge.
I seem to remember that while I was on contraceptives a long time ago, both conditions got a bit better, but I'm hesitant to start using it again because of other side effects.
Has anyone else got these two problems and had any success with contraceptives? (which ones?) Or anything else that helps?

I suffer with confirmed migraines and lots of hormonal issues and awaiting my laparoscopy surgery to remove a ovarian cyst and exploration for possible endometriosis.
Technically any hormones are bad for migraines but i have the mirena coil to treat the hormonal issues and I'm told by my gynae doctor that as a localised hormone implanted in that area rather than a contraceptive pill, it "shouldn't" upset my migraine stability. I do still get monthly hormonal migraines but I'm not back to having them all of the time like i was when i took the pill. So far so good. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻.
I should have also said i have a tablet medication for migraine to take when they come on called triptan. Like a rescue medication, only work as you know that they are coming.
I did have a laparoscopy too and it was amaaazing a few months after. I didn't even realise when my period started because it didn't hurt at all. Then I didn't have any hormones after and it came back super quick..
My problem is from the non-combined hormones I get constant periods.. It never stops. Which I feel must defeat the whole purpose.. And is bloody annoying (pun intended).
Combined ones seemed to make me more stable and I can skip one or two periods until it forces itself out lol.. But then they also say you shouldn't take combined if you have migraines with auras.. Which I had a few years back but not now (so should be "safe"). But not sure how they are for migraine reasons as they sound like they might even trigger them..
I use triptans as well but I'm bad at taking them straight away haha. Always like "ill be fine this time".. And then I'm not xD
