I am waiting on a scan for endometriosis diagnosis. My GP is adamant that endometriosis is the cause of my cough and swallow issues. I'm struggling to understand how this is related. Anyone else have this symptoms or have GP got it very wrong ?

No not me, but I would not say your GP is wrong as I believe I read on the Endo UK site that it can travel out side the abdominal cavity. Check out the site or give them a ring. Good luck with your scan appointment 🤞
Thanks for your reply. I am currently in disagreement with GP but she is not backing down on this. Even gynecologist says symptoms are not related
The way to possibly tell is MRI. Is your scan for this or ultrasound?
I’ve been wondering the same as your GP, had cough/throat issues for a long time on and off.
You have a very proactive, out of the normal box GP. Did they give a reason?
Hi thanks for your reply. No she seems to be diagnosing me with endometriosis based on the fact I bleed from my bottom during my monthly cycle. I suffer with a bad cough just in the left lung. I cough blood and have very bad reflux. She's saying having a coil fitted will fix this
Your GP may suspect that you have diaphragmatic or thoracic endometriosis. It might be worth tracking your respiratory symptoms to see if they are cyclical (you've probably already done this). I have diaphragmatic endometriosis and sometimes get a dry cough, along with pain through my chest and shoulder on the right side. But the symptoms can be more severe than this. It is however much, much more common to experience these symptoms on the right side than the left, so perhaps another explanation is more likely. Either way, you seem to have a good, pro-active and well-informed GP which is a wonderful resource and hopefully she will help you figure out what's happening. Good luck!
