Scared I’ll have my laparoscopy and they find nothing

So I finally have got my operation date for my first laparoscopy - 12th July, hooray!

But now I keep having awful thoughts of what if it’s not endometriosis, what then? And will people not believe my pain is real if it’s not?

Did anyone else feel like this before their initial laparoscopy?

Hey! First congrats on getting your date through, I had mine two weeks ago and I’m fully recovered now! Feeling nervous is totally normal and trust me you are not alone. I actually worried about the exact same thing. I was worried that they wouldn’t find anything and people would think I’m just a drama queen and that I just need to get on with it. Please don’t worry about it as you’re putting yourself through the stress of it all twice instead of once and it may never happen. Your pain is valid and your feelings are worthy please never forget that. Those that love you will know that youre not being dramatic. I hope you get the answers you want and my messages are always open if you want to chat about anything at all. Wishing you nothing but the best xxx

Hi, I had my lap a month ago and felt exactly the same. I thought they wouldn't find anything and I would have wasted everyone's time and money. But you have to remember that even if they find nothing that's one step towards a diagnosis it means you can talk to your dr about what else is causing your pain knowing it isn't endo. Think about it this way its not a matter of if you have the surgery but when as the only way to know is with the lap x

Yep, I'm going to echo what everyone has already said -- you're doing the right thing, and trust your instincts! After my first surgery I definitely woke up asking everyone in sight whether it was Endo. As the other ladies said, we all worry. You should be SO proud of yourself for getting to this point, and for acknowledging that your pain is not acceptable. xx
