Hi, I have had several delays this year and in excruciating pain, at my wits end waiting for surgery.
I was wondering if anyone out there has had scans and or surgery under Birmingham women’s hospital this year for endometriosis?

Hello Imyogi,
Do you been Birmingham Women’s Hospital in general or the BSGE Centre based there?
hi !! i have
Hi, I’m in the same situation as you. I’ve just had confirmation that they will be giving me the surgery I want but couldn’t give me a date. They are running to capacity but have a massive backlog and are seeing people in clinical need order. I’ve only had 2 5 minute telephone apps since I was referred January 2020 (my first appointments March 2020 was cancelled due to covid).
Hi imyogi I'm under Mr afifi at bham and spoke with him a few weeks ago and he said I'd be looking towards the end of the year for a date for my op, i had a ct scan in the Queen Elizabeth last bank holiday and he rang me about a week later. I hope that helps xx
Yes! Far from impressed. Waited a year for my appointment to be told its a year wait for surgery!
Yes, BWH has a big backlog. There's normally a 1-year waiting list for surgery at the best of times, and Mr Afifi was off for several weeks with Covid earlier this year so I think that's made it even worse.
Thanks for those who have replied so far. I am under Mr Afifi also. I have an 8cm cyst in my ovary and an 8cm legion in my rectum causing so much pain even being admitted to hospital they can’t control the pain. Just wondering how much pain I need to be in, in order to be seen sooner. Had a 10 week delay to get my MRI back which they’ve apologised for but no date test for surgery. Took me over a year for them to even do a follow up MRI to find the legion.
