Hi Guys, I am 32 and I am due to have a Laparoscopy, salpingostomy (because I have a blocked fallopian tube) and removal of any endometriosis (if any)

Dr said he may have to remove my one ovary and fallopian tube if the blocked Fallopian tube is no good. And thats my scare as Im only 32 and dont want to have an early menopause

Has anybody had anything similar like a hydrosalpinx and suspected endometriosis? if so what was your experience like with having a laparoscopy?

How long did you stay in for? Anything to pack especially for the surgery? Did any of you get an early menopause? Im based in the UK doing it through the NHS

HiI haven’t experienced what you’re going through exactly.

Have you told the consultant about how you are feeling, it really is important that they understand this and will be prepared to take the time needed to treat things and how they will make this judgement call. Get it all written down so you have complete understanding.

Hope you’re ok 🙂

I’ve had one of my Fallopian tubes removed, not due to Endometriosis but because of a ruptured Ectopic pregnancy. If they remove your tube you shouldn’t need to have the ovary removed, just because of this. My doctor said Fallopian tubes can move around, so the one you have left will move to the Ovary that’s releasing an egg that month - so it won’t just stay on the one side and won’t affect fertility at all.

Do make sure you query the reason why he wants to remove one of your ovaries as well. As the removal of the tube shouldn’t affect it.
