Flexible sigmoidoscopy and Endo

Hi everyone,

Not been on here for while hope everyone is doing ok,

I have been to the hospital this morning for a Flexible sigmoidoscopy due to being between Gynaecology and Gastro for my Endo atm the Flexi Sig appointment came first.

But they couldn’t even get into the first part of my colon I was in excruciating pain they had to stop I couldn’t take it felt like I was going to pass out I had just gas and air but in hindsight should of pushed for sedation.

Has anyone had a Flexi Sig done with Endo ? I’m wondering if the pain was so bad due to my Endo or the fact that it could very well be on my bowel now.

Thanks for any reply’s

Xxx

Hello.Yes I’ve had two, the first before my last excision in 2018 which was painful but not as bad as the second I had in 2020 which was excruciatingly painful.

I have stage 4 endo everywhere including bowel.

I think mine hurt due to the disease itself and dense adhesions which have pulled womb backwards, attached to bowel and bowel is pulled upwards out of place.

Best wishes to you xxx
