I had a laparoscopy 2 weeks back. My belly button is still tender, if for example, rubber band on any trousers (even sweatpants) touches it. Today I realised hard, tender ”edge” above my belly button.
Anyone has experience? Is this normal after laparoscopy or am I developing hernia there?
Appreciate any advice!!

I would get it checked to see if your stitches are infected.
Last time I had a laparoscopy my stitched became infected an I had exactly the same kind of pain that you are describing. I couldn’t tolerate even a t-shirt touching my stomach. It didn’t look infected just a bit red where the stitch went in to the skin.
I went back to the hospital twice to get them to check it and they were adamant there was nothing wrong but the second time after grudging swabbing it for an infection and still being convinced there was nothing wrong they decided to take the “dissolvable” stitches out as they thought they might have been causing irritation (I think i was 3 weeks post op at this point)
The first one practically fell out but the second took some pulling and needed cutting and low and behold a blob of puss came out too. It felt instantly better and the nurses were quite apologetic!
It healed great after that. I did wipe it twice a day with salt water once the stitches were out but tried not to get it too wet and dabbed dry afterwards. Didn’t need any antibiotics either x
