Hi I was wondering if anybody can help. I’ve recently started on the diagnostic route of endometriosis and I’ve had 2 ultrasound scans. First one showed a 3cm cyst on my left ovary (gynaecologist had expected it to have cleared by second scan) but it has shown it’s grown to 5cm. I’m currently waiting for my next app in June for my call with the consultant. Has anybody had a laparoscopy on this size cyst or will they advise on another scan first? Trying to prepare myself mentally. I’ve also been out in the mini pill to try and help with endo symptoms have you had a good experience with this form of help?
Sorry for the long winded questions and thank you in advance. X

Hi Teal, you might get one more scan but ultimately endo can’t be diagnosed through scans very easily. In my case a general surgeon did the lap and couldn’t excise as he didn’t have the expertise . I had to have two more. My suggestion is to make sure the surgeon who does your lap is specialised so he can treat immediately. Good luck
The endo I can cope with lol but knowing there’s a cyst has worried me a little. (Even though all blood tests show good signs of nothing sinister going on. I was wondering if they may turn round and say a 3rd scan before they plan next steps. I’m under a gynaecologist so hope he has the expert knowledge and can help when it’s needed, if it’s needed. Thank you for your reply and reassurance x
Hello, I won't be much help but I'm in the exact same position as you. I have several ovarian cysts showing on my ultrasound and also in the process of trying to get endo diagnosed. I'm being put on the pill for 3 packs back to back while I wait for my gyno referral to try and help the pain. Again I'm no help but just a reminder you're not alone.
Thank you so much. We are exactly in the same boat. I’m on my first of 3 packs and hoping I stop bleeding. I’m getting twinges on my left hand side every now and then. Good luck with your journey I hope your not waiting too long and again thank you for the reassurance x
I had cysts, diagnosis through scans, and mine was 5cm and just under 3cm, and in the end I had them removed for fertility reasons, they told me unless they are 5cm they won’t do surgery. But that’s my personal experience. X
