I have been booked in for a flexible cystoscopy to look for possible interstitial cystitis. However, it's the same week I am due my periods. What are the chances!
Does anyone know if I can still go ahead with the procedure? I am unable to keep taking time off work and really just want it over and done with.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, did you do an Mri scan 1st? I had the same issues thinking endo might have moved to my bladder but the urologist had me doing an Mri before a cystoscopy. I believe is not a pleasant experience but I remember when speaking to the urologist he said i should not be on my periods when i do that. Thankfully for me was just a long bad endo flare up which when it settled so did all the bladder issues. It happens from time to time...and the only way i can put my mind to easy is that i check my pee and it smells of amonia and that is another sign that my endo has flared up near my bladder. Hope this helps
Hi, I had a flexible cystoscopy whilst on my period, they didn't ask me to rearrange.
Will they be doing a hydrodistention of the bladder at the same time. This is done under general anaesthetic. If so then worth asking them. Be careful with hydrosistention procedure as it can cause other problems depending on where our endo is.
