Do you know if it is a good idea to start using the coil before being diagnosed with endometriosis?
I have been in so much pain these lasts months and after being so annoying with my GP, and a transvaginal ultrasound that showed "bulky cervix" she started thinking I had endo. She referred me to ghyneacology, but my next appointments are in March and I think is just like a consulting appointment... So would take some time for being diagnosed if that's the case.
I went to a sexual health center last month where they run a few tests to make sure everything was ok, and they suggested me to try it. They prescribed me the minipill in the meantime which has barely done nothing... Period has been a bit smoother in terms of pain (not the bleeding though), intercourse still very painful too. Once my period has finished, I have started with cramps and feeling dizzy again.
I am so scared and anxious since I don't understand what is happening and I'm not even sure if I would give a try with the coil.
I would appreciate your experiences.
Thank you!

I had coil in for 4 years ,never stopped my periods or pain ,I think that they just cause more problems when I’ve researched so I’d say leave well alone x
Hi,I've just had laproscopy last week which confirmed severe endometriosis. They've removed as much as poss and my consultant has discussed options with me an I've opted for coil and pill to help control. The consultant told me he didn't think the coil would be enough on its own as its a lower hormone dose but we're trying as I have a lot of pain in my womb and around it due to extensive endo. The coil is meant to be good at targeting endo control within the womb but the consultant felt wouldn't be enough alone for other areas hence the pill as well. I've not had much success with pills in the past as I tend to get constant bleeding. It's obviously to early to tell what's working but I wanted to share my experience so you know you're not alone, I know it's scary (pre surgery and the not knowing for me was the worst part) but I'm giving the above ago. Hope that helps and you get some answers soon too x
Thank you Bbzx, definitely not knowing what's going on it's the worst, it's getting me mad😂. I hope they diagnose soon if it's endo or not, which they say is very likely as I have all the symptoms.I think I will postpone my appointment until they find it out.
Thanks for sharing your experience, much appreciated x
