Sudden bleeding

I haven't had a period since August as been taking norethisterone 3 times a day. Well today all of a sudden I've started bleeding heavily and lost huge clots that are bigger than a golf ball and look like tissue or something else but not like a usual blood clot you get with a period.. Not sure whether i should ring my doctor or not tomorrow. Am in alot of pain that seems to come and go when I'm losing blood. Waiting for op for removal of cysts and hysterocopy but it's on hold due to other health conditions.

Hi,

Have you stopped taking the norethisterone? My experience was lots of largish clots and lots of pain after stopping norethisterone, more painful than my normal painful periods. But to put your mind at rest do ring and ask the Drs in case it’s something else.

No I haven't stopped taking it. Weirdly the bleeding has stopped now and the pain is no where near as bad. Wondering if i should ring the doc just to be on the safe side. So strange our bodies!

Hi hun I've been on norethisterone straight now since last year in November my gyne put me on it till OP date which has now been cancelled but got to go see about a laparoscopy on the 30th dec but I've been having on and off spotting each month and right now ive been experiencing weird sensations, bad period cramps and watery discharge which is yellowish in colour ... it's annoying me also as I take 3 tablets each day and I get this crap again lol ... tbh I would of thought with taking it for all this year it would of got into my system by now and stopped the daft spotting but ovs it hasn't but its ALL UNCHARTED WATERS when you haven't had a period for months on end u dont know what to expect do you and it's worse when you get spotting out the blue or a mini Breakthrough bleed ... but I did have a Breakthrough bleed in march that lasted from the 5the to the 22nd :/ which I didn't stop the tablets neither and continued till this day and still taking them ..... but I have had times were the cramps and pain and spotting went on for a few days and I just wanted to end the pills due to it but I didn't.... next year in jan is when I fully end the norethisterone so ITS GOING TO BE ONE REALLY BAD HELL OF A TIME for me ...
