I have days where the pains is so bad that I end up going to a and e but they usually just tell me that it's in my head but the only way I can be heard is if I go, I don't know what to do for the best?

Severe pain and unsure how to manage it
Hi, it really isn’t in your head. I went to A&E a few months back and saw the pain nurse, she suggested Tramadol and told me it wasn’t in my head. I also have Oramorph, Amitriptyline from the pain consultant. Currently using Tramadol, paracetamol and the Amitriptyline with Oramorph in the background (just recovering from op so it’s all a bit tender)Tell your GP you want an urgent referral to the pain clinic. Not sure what stage you are at, If you are under a BSGE centre, speak to gynae secretary and ask about an appointment, they’ll have one as part of the team.
Thank you so much! I will definitely give them a call on Monday and see if they can do anything as I'm a student nurse and it's impacting my studies and I can't really afford for that to happen.
thank you again and I hope you recover well from your op!!
Wow, if you’re a nurse, regardless of in training, how on earth can they think you are making it up 🙄Some things are ridiculous.
Let us know how you get on.
An alternative approach is the online form on the GP website, there will be one to request referral, it’s much easier to list what’s happening.
Good luck 🙂
Hi love,
Just read your back & forth with moon_maiden.
Do let us know how you get on, & keep us posted.
Here for you, standing with you xx
Have you tried some magnesium? I take 400mg of magnesium at bedtime (can make you drowsy) and it really helps with my sore legs (I have fibromyalgia and restless leg syndrome). I also do a warm bath for at least 20 minutes with 2 cups of Epsom salt (magnesium!). I would highly recommend looking up to see if you have a local float house. It’s individual tanks / rooms with about a foot of water and a ton of Epsom (a literal ton!) so you float. It really helps my inflammation and taking pressure off joints.
