Constipation after laproscopy. Please help.

Hi, i am 2 weeks post laproscopy . surgeon removed endo from ovary , rectovaginal area and shaved off on rectal wall. Suffering the worst constipation of my life. Stool is harder than stone(excuse me). Laxative and other home remedies are of no help. The force i have to give (in toilet) is stronger than the one i gave during pregnancy still of no use sometimes. Also have lower abdomen pain after surgery when i empty bladder. Anyone with similar experience? Can someone give me an advice? Any suggestions would be appreciated much.

Thanks in advance

What have you been using to help?

I suffer really badly and sometimes it's like being in labour (or so I'm told it's so bad)

I have lactulose on a daily basis then movacol when very bad.

It might be worth speaking to your doctor as you may need a softener and also something to help stimulate your bowel also.

Putting something under your feet to raise them can help, it outs your body in a more natural pooping position. I have a small yoga block about 4 inches and this really helps me.

I find prunes can be a very effective natural laxative.

I love them and didn't know the side effects till I had been munching on them all day 😳

Some gentle yoga can help get the bowels going if you are able to do this.

There is a YouTube channel call yoga with Adrien - she had 100's of videos and is very good.

Lots and lots and LOTS of water as dehydration will make the constipation worse.

Poop tracker aps are good, I use"poop tracker" it has a poop emjoi, it is free and helps you look at when/how often/ what type and any symptoms. Also helpful to show your medical professional.

Hope you feel better soon

Thank you so much for the info. Just got my prune juice(100%). Hope it helps .. As its just 2 weeks post surgery a slow walk is what i do. That iyself gives me bloating. Yoga is defenitely on the list as thats what i've been doing before i got my symptoms worse. Thanks much once again.

You have had very major surgery and it can take time to settle but the article below might help and I should also contact the endo nurse if it continues.

Which endo centre are you at as it is encouraging that they are doing complex surgery again (unless you are at a private centre)?

Hi, Thank you very much. I live in Germany. I joined this community as i found this one to be the best . hope that doesnt stop you from helping me.

I don't know what the treatment options are in Germany but the ESHRE guidelines apply there which do here. It is universally acknowledged that you must be treated in a specialist endo centre so be sure that is where you are being treated. The link below confirms that Germany follows the endo centre principle that applies here.

If you google 'Germany endometriosis centres' you will hopefully find a good centre. Good luck. x

Thank you very much for your support.

I am treated in an endo special centre which is a very highly facilitated oncology center too. But as after surgery i am discharged back to my gyn, i have to report post op problems to her. And nothing is helping with my constipation.
