I had a laparoscopy 6 weeks ago where I had my left ovary removed as it was dead and stuck to my pelvis by endo. Previous to this in April 2019 I had a total hysterectomy where they found a chocolate cyst and also endo and my ovary was stuck to my womb. 3 weeks after my first op the endo came back and I was in agony again. The gynae reckoned that now I’ve had my left ovary removed I would be fine and tried to release me from his care as my body would go through the change naturally, I said no. Now 6 weeks on I’m in agony again and have been for 2 weeks, could the endo have come back again?? I’m due to speak with the gynae in the morning for a follow up

Have they done an mri on your bowels or anything might be worth a check to see if any has been missed? I feel for you im currently in hospital fighting for a hysterectomy. I had a laparoscopy and adehesions removed in December again like yourself it was coming back within a week! Its so fustrating, however ive been put on zoladex to prevent anymore growing whilst i await surgery. Im convinced they missed deep endo but what do i know 😂😂they are going to do it asap but i want an mri with the dye to check all areas before i leave otherwise its just going to keep growing 😪 i hope they manage to get to the bottom of it for you. The problem is when different consultants say different things but you know your pain x
I was put on prostap injections for 9 months while I was waiting for my lap but they didn’t really do anything for me. I was supposed to go in hospital in may but it got cancelled due to covid, I’m just glad I didn’t let him sign me off the day he did the op and said I wanted a follow up appointment. I’m sure my next step is being referred to a specialist endo centre as he’s done all he can for me.
I hope you get sorted soon I know how bad the pain can be
Hi I'm sorry to hear that. Is your surgeon at a BSGE endometriosis centre? If they do that operation to remove the uterus/ovaries they need to remove all the endometriosis. It's possible they have missed some and that's why you are in so much pain. If it gets bad go to A&E just in case there have been complications from the surgery. It might be worth asking your GP to refer you to another consultant at another hospital (bsge endo centre) for a second opinion. You will stay on your current consultants list while you seek this second opinion. If you like that person you can swap. You are able to specify which consultant you want to see at this second hospital, it needs to be mentioned on the form.
I second the suggestion that it might be worth looking at whether there's endo on the bowel, do you have any bowel symptoms?
I hope it all works out and definitely don't let them discharge you .
The problem is that once you are discharged you're on your own again. People advice to 'go see your gynae'- but I've never had one apart from a surgeon who operated on me then discharged me 2 weeks later ....
Good for you not letting them just discharge you. Hospitals are keen to discharge back to local GP care, but they have some vague report, minimal results and very little time and info. X
The gynae rang asked how I was feeling and when I told him about the pain he said there’s nothing else he can do for me as there is only one ovary left and can’t be from that. He’s discharged me back to the doctor and said I have to give it 4 weeks before I go to see them and he’s recommending investigation of my bowels 😟
