No period, negative pregnancy test

Hi, just after some advice really. Had the coil removed in dec 2019 to try for a baby (I’m 37). In May this year started with unbearable pains, cramping, excruciating pain during bowel movements. After numerous trips to a&e and my doctor I’m on a “urgent” waiting list to see a gynaecologist as the doctors I have seen think I have endometriosis. I still don’t have an appointment.

In July I was told my only option was to go back on the pill until I had my appointment. By this time I was being sent home from work because I was in so much pain and so I started the pill. It did stop my pains but like I’ve said I’m 37 and I don’t feel I have time to waste.

On 26 sept I stopped taking the pill and have a bleed on 01 Oct which lasted 5 days. The last week I have been suffering terribly with hip and back pain, had slight cramping and tender boobs. My cycle is normally no longer than 28 days and I’m now on day 30 and no period. Ive been doing ovulation tests and according to them I ovulated on 14 Oct. I did a pregnancy test today but it was negative 😔

Tonight I’m in agony with this hip and back pain and pain when I have a bowel movement. Has anyone experienced anything like this I’m really down with it all and still no closer to any diagnosis.

Hi oh I’m so sorry you’re going through this! I hope you get that consultant appointment soon.

Regarding missing period I only can think of two things based on my own experience.

1: you thought you were going to ovulate but you didn’t, it’s called a “double peak” maybe something spooked your ovaries from releasing an egg. You may have ovulated by now but it was just later than you think.

2; maybe you are pregnant but your test can’t detect it, if your period hasn’t started yet I’d book in to see the GP so they can do a blood test to check.

When I had my periods going all over the place I read Lisa Hendrick Jackson’s “the fifth viral sign” it was very helpful and gave me loads of insight into my body. Just thought I’d recommend it if you’re looking for more info.

I’m also trying for babies, which is the hardest thing sometimes. I had the waiting! so I’m wishing you loads of luck xxx

Thank you for your reply. My period has come this morning 😔 seems like my body is doing all the right things, ovulating and having periods yet I can’t get pregnant. This is what frustrates me because if I knew more of what was going on then I could understand it all a lot more.

I have a little boy well 7 so not so little 🤣 and he’s my world so I’m very lucky.

Good luck with trying xx
