I’m on the pill but still get cramping as bad as when I had natural periods. Anyone else like this? Any recommendations for a pill that helps? I’m due on and having the most intense abdominal and hip cramps right now. I’ve been like this most of the day, I was bent double at my desk at work even with my heating pad. I could cry I am in so much pain and I know that when the bleeding starts it’ll get even worse. I usually end up vomiting from the pain

Sorry your going through this? what pill are you on?

I was put on ridgevidon to take back to back a few months ago and it worked great for a few months but now I’m getting the cramping again. I’ve been getting stabbing pelvic pain all day 😭

I’m currently on rigevidon too. Tried a few others but none that have been great. It’s been good for shortening my bleed and reducing heaviness but doesn’t seem to touch the pain. Hope your pain is getting better

Hallo! Sorry to hear you’re in so much pain - the fact that you vomit from it is a red flag. I used to vomit and faint from my episodes and it turns out I had an endometrioma (chocolate cyst on the ovary) that had burst (this happened twice to me). Perhaps you should get a scan to rule out an endometrioma?

thanks I’ve had a cyst burst before and had constant vomiting with that. This is just vomiting with my period when the pain is at its worst. Had a scan fairly recently so fingers crossed nothing has come up since but will keep an eye on my symptoms

I have not been diagnosed with endo yet but i am in the process…i was also on ridgevidon, it was the first pill my doctor put me on after i told her my cramps were so horrific I was near enough passing out. worst decision ever, i literally only lasted two days taking it because the cramps they caused me were unreal, I had to leave work early one of the days and even thought of going to the hospital. I was in so much pain and no amount of painkillers would make it go away. Anyways after all that fun, I was put on Cerelle (mini-pill) and thank you god i haven’t had any BAD cramps since then. The first month I had very light spotting most days, but then it stopped, now at 3 months and no bleeding with only very slight cramps at times. I never reply to posts online but I really hope you find a pill that helps you because I understand how debilitating the pain is T-T

Hello

So the pill can only mask symptoms and it's not a one fits all. It's trial and error to find one that works for you, if you find one that works for you not endings gets relief of symptoms from the pill.

Have you been referred to a gynaecologist who has a specialist interest in endo for investigation and tests?
