I had a bit of a cough afterwards too but that was because they poked about with my diaphragm. Did they give you antibiotics afterwards? They did with me to prevent any infections and it seemed to work.

Hi yeah they gave me 3 doses of antibiotics last one was Friday. Fingers crossed it will start to calm down it’s driving me crazy. Thanks for your reply x

I’ve not had a hysterectomy but after having my gallbladder removed two years ago, I was the same. It’s common to get an upper respiratory cough after having a tube in your throat, plus the normal secretions you’d cough up gather and I’m sure coughing isn’t too comfortable right now so you may not be shifting things as effectively. Hope it clears up for you x

If it doesn’t go away, get checked for COVID because one of the main symptoms is a cough.

Actually I meant in case you caught it while in hospital for surgery, after they pre-tested you. Anyway, I hope it’s going away. Take care.

When I had my lap in February I had a cough for about 3 weeks. My surgery was over 3 hours and I have asthma so the fluid builds up in my lungs. They stick a tube down your throat during surgery. I had to use this breathing apparatus and they sent me home with it to do so I could keep my lungs clear. Don’t worry about it being covid! It’s totally normal. Same goes for a sore throat. 💕

My surgery was a rough recovery. I had over a 3 hour surgery with a massive adhesion that pulled my rectum up and over my vagina on the inside (I had to look at a diagram and still don’t know how it happened lol). I have 17 chronic illnesses so it took me about 6 months to recover from my surgery. My belly button is incision refused to heal until the 5th month as well. But such is life. Just take it easy on yourself, remember that even though on the outside you’re healed it will take months for the inside to heal. Sending you lots of healing vibes and love.
