Hi your recovery will depend on what you had done. Get plenty of rest and be kind to yourself.
Hi, sorry to hear you have endo honey, I'm sure you're feeling pretty rubbish I know I did. I am stage 3 and I felt shocking for the first few days. It took me two weeks before I went back to work and I started to feel a bit more normal. Have lots of rest and take each day at a time xx
Hello Miral, I can sympathise with you - I had my laparoscopy 10 days ago and I started feeling better 2 days ago (I had stage 2). I couldn't walk straight, bend or lift anything (that still is an issue) and I was in so much pain I had to go back to hospital to get stronger meds. It was definitely a shock for my system! My friend had stage 4 removed twice and it took her about 3-3.5 weeks to recover. It all depends what you had done. I'm still not fully myself, tummy is still a bit bloated but peppermint tea helps me with that, I am mobile about the house which is a progress but bending still hurts + my little boy who is 3 wants me to play and jump with him and I can't do it best advice is to listen to your body and don't pressure yourself into doing things too early as it might delay your recovery. Wishing you all the best!
Hi there, was it an investigative lap or did they do some work? Excision or laser? And where was the Endo? These are all things that factor into a recovery.
If they just had a look and didn't do anything you will be starting to feel more like yourself as early as 3-4wks.
If they did some work make it 4-6.
If you had severe disease excised with involvement from bladder or especially bowel surgeon for stage 4 it can take up to 3-4 months recovery.
Wouldn't be too worried about the period. It will be no worse than 'normal', hopefully better if they excised Endo. The main reason it can be difficult is if it occurs in the first few wks post surgery - you're already pretty sore so having a period drain you more is tough. Keep on top of your pain meds and timings - get a little book to write down ie. 8am tramadol/paracetamol, 10am codeine, 12noon tramadol/paracetamol etc - if you are on a combo of drugs like that or even just two it is better to space out so you're taking something every two hours in the early days of recovery rather than a handful of drugs every 4 hrs. Just mind you don't take more than the max dose in anything. Focus on resting up and don't push yourself too far and you will be fine.
I have removed the endometrima tissue of size 9.5cm left side abd 3cm right side, my Dr pretend that I will recover after one week, I can't believe on that that's why I wonder if someone else around same case recovered too early like that.
I haven't had cysts removed as my ovaries have always been relatively ok. He maybe meant a week until you'll be out of bed and starting to move about, able to do light duties. If there was no major excision or removal of adhesions I'd say you'll be almost back to normal within a month x
Hey, I had stage 4 endo removed almost 3 years ago now. I had a chocolate cyst the size of an orange removed from the right ovary...ovaries were apparently wrapped around each other and I had adhesions all across my abdomen sticking everything together.
Dr reckoned I'd need at least 4 weeks off...in the end I had about 2.5 weeks. I wouldn't say I was 100% when I went back, but felt a lot better than before the lap and took it easy.
I hope you feel better soon.
