Prostap or tibolone side effects?

I’m on prostap three monthly injections and tibolone for add back HRT. Every couple of weeks I’m having a few days where my whole body aches and I feel exhausted. Wondering if anyone else has had these aches whilst on the same?

Hi, yes I have terrible aches when on the injection. I have exactly the same as you Prostap and Tibilone but I have the monthly injections. I have aches and pains in my hips, back, legs and shoulder? I have spoken to my consultant about this but he said that is why I am taking the Tibilone otherwise these side effects would be worse.

I got to the point where I couldn’t put up with feeling like an oap anymore (I’m 41!) and came off the injections, however that just made my stomach pains unbearable. So basically I have to either put up with aching bones or I have to put up with aching tummy and awful periods. Such a great a choice to have aay! I chose the injection!

I take vitamin D supplements to help with the aches in my joints now. They help a little but I still feel achey and tired 😕

Sorry you’re feeling this way, it’s pants is t it! x

I’m glad it’s not just me, I thought I was getting poorly every week as it felt like the start of flu or whatever. Horrible isn’t it!

I’m going to try and carry on as it’s been nice not having pain or bleeding for a while, though randomly I had awful pain yesterday and bleeding 🤷‍♀️ I’ve no idea what is what these days!

I’ll try the vitamin D too, thank you! Xx

It’s not nice at all is it 🙁 I had spotting too, probably for the first couple of injections. It will take a while for your body to adjust to it. Also the night sweats and hot flushes started almost straight away after the first Prostap but again the hrt will take a while to kick in. Once they do it’s so much better 👍🏼

Yep I agree it’s lovely not having a period! Hope you start to feel better soon x

Thank you! I hope you do too!

I’ve been really lucky that I haven’t so far (touch wood!) had many night sweats or hot flushes, I started the HRT on day one too. I’m glad you’re spotting etc got better after a few injections! Xx

Hi! I ended up stopping the prostap after 9 months, the aching didn’t stop and the pain started to come back so we decided to go back to basics while I’m waiting for another op to take away what they can find!

I’d still recommend trying it though! For some women it can be a miracle worker xx
