Are you prescribed or taking any anti-inflammatory on a regular basis, such as Ibprofen, Naproxen, Mefenamic Acid, or Tramexamic Acid? The could be the culprit causing your reflux. If this is the case your GP should be able to prescribe you some Omprezole to counter the side effect.

If this isn't the case and it has been ongoing and isn't improving, be sure and talk to your GP anyhow. It could be a simple thing such as diet, but it could also be a symptom of something else.

I hope this helps.

Hey,

I’m yet to be diagnosed, but I too get acid reflux. I used to think it was bad diet, takeaways, smoothies, always eating late at night, cider and smoking etc etc.

I’ve been prescribed omeprezole for the last few years, took it continually for months... definitely the one to take id say as it does work (compared to say rennies/gaviscon)

However it’s only the last year that I’ve been realising my acid seems to be at different levels throughout my cycle.

It’s bad the week before I’m due and also around ovulation. The rest of month I don’t seem to get it, even if I’ve had a acidy food/habits etc

Of course all those things are still bad! but sometimes I’m downing smoothies thinking I’ll regret this and I’m okay...

I also have GERD (gastrointestinal esophageal reflux disease). I feel like there’s a finger down my throat all the time and I get pain in my sternum and burning in my chest. I’ve just been diagnosed with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and it can cause my reflux to be much worse when it’s flared. I eat a very strict anti inflammatory diet which doesn’t have wheat/gluten, dairy, sugar, and processed foods. I take a double dosage of nexium and it still doesn’t help at all. I’ve been taking nausea pills that cost me $5 each. Anyway I just started drinking coconut water for my pots but surprisingly it has stopped my stomach pain and the feeling of a finger down the throat is like 50% better. It’s the first thing I’ve ever tried that’s reduced my reflux. Could be worth a shot!
