Any doctor recommendations for South West England?

Hi Ladies!

I am looking for a great doctor in the South West of the UK to help me. I have been bounced back and forth in the NHS and am now looking for a specialist who can help with diagnosis, pain relief and surgery (if needed). Has anyone had a doctor/clinic/hospital they trust, who 'gets it'? and has helped you? Anything to shortcut the learning and pain would be a god send.

Thanks for any advice in advance :-)

Hello Emmaet

We ask that our forum members don't recommend specific health professionals or Hospitals. We understand that it can be challenging to find an appropriate consultant in order to ensure the best treatment for you, but one person's experience of a consultant can hugely differ from another.

We recommend that women seek out institutions that have been peer-reviewed by other medical professionals and deemed centres of excellence. We feel that a good place to start looking for this information is through the BSGE website. Here you can find details of accredited endometriosis centres who have specialist endometriosis consultants.

If you do not qualify for a referral to a BSGE accredited centre, we would recommend finding a gynaecologist with a special interest in endometriosis. Under the NICE guidelines, each gynaecology department should have someone within their team with a special interest in endometriosis.

I hope this information is helpful and that you find a suitable specialist soon

Best wishes
