Pain relief

Hello, I’m new to this whole thing so please bare with me.

I’ve been having symptoms for years now, I’ve had many scans that have shown nothing and after a recent hospital trip due to pain my doctor has now started the ball rolling for endo diagnostics. She’s sure that’s what it is as am I but I’m awaiting my laparoscopy for it to be confirmed.

However when we discussed it I wasn’t given anything for the pain and recently it’s starting to creep back up the scale, it always gets worse around my period and I’m due next week so the cramps are starting and the pains are making me feel faint. Do any of you with a diagnosis have specific prescription pain meds for endo pains or is it a case of ibuprofen and heat pads? I can’t cope with extra heat on my body in this 35°c weather haha.

Thanks guys x

Hi

I saw a pain nurse at A&E a month or so back and she gave Tramadol. Wasn’t doing much, saw a pain consultant who suggested Amitriptyline for nerve pain, I’ve only been on this a couple of weeks, he said it can take time to build up.

I also have Oramorph to use.

It’s a case of trying and seeing. I use paracetamol with the Tramadol. Have tried Nefopam and Naproxen in the past, ok at times.

GP’s are loathe to give pain relief, but it is a recognised condition for pain so you shouldn’t have issues. If they aren’t keen on opiates, ask about the Nefopam.

Anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen or Naproxen. Naproxen is prescription and was suggested by the gynaecologist, they normally suggest something like omeprazole to go with because of the side effects on digestion.

Wheat bags are great, but a killer in this weather 😂
