Sorry to hear you are sufferIng like this. Are you taking livial hrt as well as having the prostap injections? As the symptoms you are experiencing are not side effects as such but those of menopause which is what the prostap induces.

Claire, I always feel 'fluey' for a few days after my injections, be it Prostap or Zoladex. I'm not sure why, because as brighteyesjas says, it's not a recognised side effect. I think it's probably more to do with our immune system reacting to the drug rather than the drug itself.

I just treat it the same as I would flu, it should go very soon :)

My first month of Prostap was a breeze, but the second and third has been ulmost unbarable. The term 'Hot flushes' really doesnt do it justice... It sounds like such a simple thing to have to deal with. I honestly couldnt cope with them at all. For the 3 or 4 minutes they occur (once or twice an hour) I feel like my head is going to explode. The pressure is immense. I wake up with them through the night as well, so my sleep has been disturbed, and my partner has started sleeping in the spare room because I am so fidgety, hot and bothered. It's such a rubbish feeling though and very hard to explain. It's like I am not myself for that brief time, and there is a war going on inside my body. And I'm losing. I know that much! It's so horrible. I went to the doctors and said 'no more' and she gave me Livial, the HRT. I've only been taking them a few days so I cant really comment on them, but, the doctor did say that I should have been taking them from the get go when I had my first injection, so you must insist to have it. Hopefully it'll help xxx

Hi Claire

I had my 1st prostap injection on Friday 2nd March and I'm not feeling too good either. It seems to have flared up my endo with incredible back ache and feeling very bloated and uncomfortable. I also feel queasy and have a lack of appetite. For the first few days I felt like I was getting the flu as I ached and felt very cold.

I am starting to wish that I hadn't had it to be honest.

I have heard that it can make things worse for the first month, but if the same thing happens next month I will have to question is it worth it??

Hope things have eased a bit for you

x

pain wise the back ache is getting worse rather than better dnt no why theyd offer us a treatment that may worsen things im gonna go for the second one see what effect that has but if the pain still as bad not gonna put myself through it again doesnt seem worth it.im struggling with eating still and am now on antisickess pills for the nausia and sickness things are never simple. xx
