Does anyone get excruciating pain for about 5/6 days during the fertility window?

Hi all, i've posted quite a bit recently, but my pain has not progressed from being more defined (i.e. during and after period, and around ovulation) to almost all the time. The worst is the window after my period, it gradually intensifies the week after my period, and then lasts for about 3-5 days during which I assume I'm ovulating. How can this level of pain be normal. My husband was adamant we should go to A&E, but i've been there before back last October, and they were going to keep me in for the night, but I reluctantly said no because it was a Friday and i'm sure they wouldn't find anything.

Hi there

I experience the worst of my pains around my ovulation. I had a lap just over a year ago, and at the 6 month mark the pains started to come back. I have pain most of the month now, on and off but definitely worst during ovulation. In fact, I reluctantly started to take medication (dienogest) this last few months as it was getting so consistent. However, although this has stopped the pain (probably by about 90%) I now have the problem that I have bleeding and spotting most days. Plus, we have been trying for a baby for so long now and the meds stops ovulation - so not really a permanent solution.

I am hoping to see my doctor but due to the current situation, not sure if I can get a regular appointment yet.

Sorry it’s not a great help to you, but if you are experiencing pain like that though you should go back to your doctor for sure.

Thanks am awaiting a lap for the first time - it was due just after lockdown, but am in two minds whether to hold off and just try to conceive. I had slight pain prior to conceiving my first in 2017, but in the last year, it's really profound. I think c-section may have contributed to this.

I’ve been getting really bad ovulation pain for about 2-3 days it’s so bad on ovulation I am tempted to go to a & e it feels like something is about to explode. I only had surgery in February and never had ovulation pain until now. We are trying to conceive so I’m not on any medication for it .

Sounds like a very similiar pain. Like a ball waiting to burst. What was your surgery?

We have also just bitten the bullet and trying to conceive. Done with waiting for a lap that may or may not do anything. I'm not on anything and to be honest painkillers do minimal, heat is best.

Yeah it does feel like something will pop. I had excision surgery in February to remove all the endo. Reason I went for surgery is because it was so bad inside I wouldn’t have been able to conceive carry full term as everything was stuck together my ovaries were stuck together and stuck to the bowels and I had a few chocolate cysts in the ovaries so it was making it hard to conceive. So I had to have surgery I also found out I have a blocked tube too. I think it’s going to be very hard for me to conceive and have a feeling I might need to go down the ivf route but I will keep trying I’m desperate to be a mum. I think if you can cope with the pain while trying then keep going. X

I'm so sorry to hear that love. Did they identify that it was all stuck together via an MRI or a lap. My pelvic MRi came back as no convincing evidence of endo. Does that meant they could not see organs stuck together?

I'm worried now that if we try and something happens I'm potentially making the situation worse for me.

My symptoms really effect my bowel movements are certain times of the month. Weirdly when I'm on my period I go well and regularly but during my ovulation period and immediately after period it slows down, constipation kicks in and that's difficult

Yeah it was all identified on an mri my consultant said I had severe endo just from my mri. So I definitely needed the surgery. If your mri has come back saying there isn’t any then you either might have it or not but if you did it might be mild endo. Why don’t you give it 6 months of trying and if nothing happens then maybe push for a lap. I’m going to give it 6 months of trying naturally then I’m going ask for fertility treatment as I’m worried the longer I leave it my endo will come back x
