Dealing with extreme fatigue and exhaustion. I normally do but even when now not working and getting rest it actually feels worse. Is there anything people have found to help this? I feel so useless as the weakness is awful

Honestly.....no. Iron tablets help a bit. I get where you are coming from. I wish I could offer more help.

I've been experiencing this a lot lately, and reached the end of my tether with it. So for the past few days I've tried a drastic diet change, in the hopes that perhaps something I'm eating/not eating enough of is causing inflammation (thus sending all my energy towards an internal fight I can't see, and sapping all my reserves!)

It's only been a few days, but yesterday I was able to think more sharply than I have in weeks - and I managed the laundry without needing a lie down immediately afterwards. It could be a total coincidence, but maybe what I've eaten has helped?

In case you're as willing to try anything as I was, here's what I've changed -

REMOVED FROM DIET

- dairy

- gluten

- refined sugar / sweeteners

- meat

- high fat / deep fried foods

(So mostly natural/simple foods, with eggs or fish for protein, and fruit for a sweet kick when needed)

SUPPLEMENTS ADDED

- ginger (for inflammation)

- turmeric (for inflammation)

- spirulina (for added energy)

- vitamin D (I'm often in the low side for this anyway, so it can't hurt to add it in)

- folic acid (we always live in hope!)

I'm missing chocolate more than I can say, but if I continue feeling better, I think I'll stop minding!

I'm also sensing there could be some self-judgement around your low energy - please know that this isn't personal and it doesn't define you. Maybe you just need to surrender to it for a while, and come back renewed after some rest. The world is experiencing one of the greatest collective stressors in our personal history, and all that tension is adding to the mix for us endo folk - undoubtedly exacerbating the condition's symptoms. Be gentle with yourself, do what you can, release what you can't.

I hope you can find something that will work for you too.

X

Magnesium glycenate also helps with fatigue. Caffeine should also be removed from the diet ad it has a high oestrogen contents. I am on decaff coffee, vegan chocolate with no soya, gluten free bread, pasta, flour. It has really made a difference to reduce inflammation and pain.

Hope you find what suits you. Stay safe.
