There are so many of you who have written such inspiring posts on here that I feel a real flake writing this but I wondered how everyone copes with the unremitting fatigue that comes with this disease? Do you have any helpful strategies that you could advise please? I'm sure that this is all individual but any tips would be helpful! Thanks very much.

Fatigue
Hahaha, I just had to laugh, a key word that's popped up on my post is cocaine! Well, I guess that's an option that I hadn't thought of but probably wouldn't recommend, hahaha!!
Haha, I saw that too, hilarious! But if you don't want to do cocaine, then I find it helps to drink a LOT of water (I drink between 2-3 litres of water a day) and having a healthy diet. I try to work out every day (yoga) as I find it helps with the fatigue, although it is sometimes very hard to make myself do it, especially when I am in pain. I avoid tea, coffee, chocolate, alcohol as I find all of those increase my pain and exhaustion. I also try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
Thank you so much. I'm newly diagnosed and know that having read up on this more that I will need to do the above - I've been putting it off. Not that I've been excessive in any of the above to be fair. Anything to help I feel and it's necessary to have a holistic approach. The sleeping 8 hours will be more of a challenge as I have a four year old but that side of things will get easier as my child gets older, I suspect! Thank you.
lol I saw that too! Ok I dont do that but do love Purdeys drinks, they are Multi Vits & botanicals in sparkling water, all natural & very uplifting.
You can get the everywhere, HFS, Boots, supermarkets etc
Jx
Thank you JessieP, I'd forgotten about Purdeys drinks, I love them too! Great advice and will definitely give them a go. Thank you, Kx
I have severe fatigue as I was also diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome a few years ago after a potential virus. My life has had to change... I already only worked 3 days a week due to chronic pelvic pain (probably endo related as well as pudendal neuralgia). I have to get about 8-10hrs sleep a night and spend most of my days off work totally resting (sat watching telly a lot of the time) I try to eat healthy and have cut out most dairy, gluten, red meat, though not sure this has helped. I don't tolerate alcohol well so only have the odd drink and only have 1-2 caffeine drinks max a day.
Have you had your vitamin d levels tested? Mine were really low... And it's quite common with us folk in gloomy Britain! This can sometimes cause fatigue and is fixed with high dose vitamin d.
Maybe some of this will help? X
Thank you Flowerpotts for your advice. Hadn't thought of Vit D deficiency as my colouring usually maximises Vit D intake in this country - but an avenue worth investigating too. Hope you're doing ok - the fatigue is horrible. It's a Catch22 too as the pain will sometimes wake me up at night e.g. like tonight for eg. yet you need the sleep! Hope that's not the case for you. Take care, x
K mis Im still laughing at the key tag word it picked for you being cocaine! The only thing that made me smile today, :0
I'm 17 and I have to admit I can take naps all the time, but I find for me I would do that only if I stayed up from pain or if it was a fatigue from being stressed out.
When I'm stressed out and fatigued because of endo, I take a break from doing things, like listen to music for a few minutes and give myself a mind break. Another thing that helps is if you have a tumble stone and roll it in your hand.
I also recommend to pick up an art to keep your mind off things, I sometimes paint, draw, write music or poetry, play guitar, or sing.
I find that fatigue is more so an emotional thing for me rather then physical.
The fatigue is probably my biggest symptom actually. Days where I'm not in pain (which are very rare) I'm usually come over with a huge amount of fatigue instead. It has got to the point that I can't work now because if I'm not in pain, then I'm out cold from the fatigue and can't even lift my arms to phone my place of work let alone actually phone them. I've always said that I could probably deal with the pain but nothing I do to sort the fatigue actually makes a difference so far.
I don't really have any strategies other than trying to take it easy and as my friend says stop when I feel like I'm at 70% energy levels so I can still get myself back to my sofa or bed.
I just wanted you to know you aren't alone in this. Fatigue is definitely a nuisance!
Following on from your kind recommendations - I decided to have a couple more weeks of enjoying my morning latte and summer drinks at BBQs before giving this a go. Started today as planned on 1 Aug and cutting out caffeine, alcohol and chocolate. None of which I had in copious amounts but want to see if it makes a difference! It's well-timed as got new symptoms yesterday with excruciating pain in my right hip and right pelvis at the back. Slightly worried as the same happened six months ago before my left hip went numb. MRI booked for 10 days time. So fingers crossed! Thanks again 🙂
