Cyst Draining - alternative treatment to surgery

Hello :)

I have had surgery already to remove a large cyst one ovary and both Fallopian tubes, I was diagnosed at this point with severe endometriosis.

Unfortunately my hormone treatment which induces reversible menopause was not available due to the pandemic and I was admitted to hospital with severe pain this weekend and they discovered another sizeable cyst on my remaining ovary. The consultant has advised draining the cyst and then treating it with alcohol and it’s all done without anaesthetic, and is much more likely to preserve the ovary. I’m really worried it is going to be very painful or have other risks associated like infection etc. Has anyone on here had this procedure before?
