I've recently been switched from the patch to the pill (logynon) which is triphasic so the hormone levels vary each week. i found that it's good in terms of having less side effects so it would be perfect for women who actually use it for contraception but unfortunately for my endo pain it doesn't seem to be doing much i had a week on it where i didn't have much pain but i have this dull pain in my right lower abdomen which radiates to my back and gets worse when i bend that doesn't go away. the patch was good as it definitely took my symptoms away but because the dose was too high i developed high blood pressure and severe anxiety.
So does anyone have any pill recommendations? let me know which one's you guys take and how you've felt being on it. i know that everyone's experience with diff pills can be completely different but i just haven't a clue which type i should switch to.
with high doses i get high blood pressure and heart palpitations and with low doses i have symptoms which makes this really difficult too. and i am too afraid to try the mini pill as i've heard so many negative experiences with it and the side effects are a nightmare.

Hi, obviously I don't know whether it will suit you bearing in mind your previous reactions but Yasmin has been the best for me, but it has to be the brand and not the generic alternative, as I did have side effects with that even though it's supposed to have the same ingredients (I think it was called Lucette).
It's mono phasic and I take 3 packs in a row (tri-cycling) so only a "period" only every 10 weeks . As I said, you'll need to check with a health professional but it's been a life changer for me, no side effects at all, and I've taken many combined pills over the years.
Hi, did you feel sick and rubbish when you first started the patch? I’ve been on it for three days now and feel so sick (like in the early stages of pregnancy). I’m the opposite to you, tried two pills and had all sorts of issues (Yasmin and Levest) so the consultant said that the side effects from the patch are sometimes tolerated better. I’m ready to give up already which I know is ridiculous after 3 days. How long were you on the patch for? Sorry I can’t help you much in terms of a recommendation for the pill.
Hi, unfortunately yes the beginning stages of taking the patch weren’t great for me either, I did feel very sick and I still get this even on the pill (not sure whether it’s the endo or the pill actually) but it definitely did settle down a lot and it worked very well to mask my symptoms! Don’t give up, I know the first few days are horrible but when it settles it could work amazingly for you! I was on it for around 5/6 months but I had to come off because I was taking it back to back and eventually it started giving me high blood pressure but everyone is different. It is also much easier to take than the pill as you Don’t have to think about it everyday.
Yes, it’s shocking. I’ve felt like I’m in the early stages of pregnancy all week... seems to be a lot worse in the day and then ease in the evening. Hope you feel better soon x
Sorry to hear about your pain. In case helpful I have provided a link below to an information sheet on different Treatment Options on our website which can highlight to you what the different contraceptive options are as well as their side effects.
