Getting pregnant after prostap?

I had pro stap for 6 months Jan 2018 - June 2018. I went back on to my pill after it. I then stopped my pill in October 2019 and have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months. My cycle varies between 33&40 days. My doctor has said to keep trying for another year but just wondered if anyone had any advice or encouragement cause I’ve changed doctors since I had prostap and just not sure they understand.

Hi I've just come off prostrap was on for over 6 months supposed to be 3 befor IVF until it got cancelled then was put on more to suppress the endo after my op. last one was January 3rd periods came back April 1st. Second period and really hoping this month it works ! I have endo stage 4 left tube removed. Same boat would love to hear stories of people's success after prostrap. Good luck and fingers crossed for you don't lose hope x

Thanks so much for replying.

I made the decision to go back on the pill after my prostap treatment because we’d just got engaged and was buying a house and wasn’t ready to try. Now we’re financially sorted and it’s been 7 months of trying. Before prostap my cycle was 24-28 days and up to 10 days long each time so the difference in cycle is causing my worry. Just wondering whether I made the wrong decision to not try back then. Hindsight is a pain. I hope so much that we both get lucky this month. Got everything crossed for us both XX

It was the right decision at the time so try not to bash yourself over it you were putting yourselfs in a better position for the future although i know the feeling you do overthink and start to regret some choices whether they are right or wrong! i was told to go on mirena coil or pill but they were against the pill for messing up my cycle not as effective they said problem was i was not keen on coil after hearing horror stories of it possibly making endo worse for some women. Your cycles will get rebalanced it just takes time too long sometimes! 7 months even for normal couples not concieving isnt considered unusual so try not to worry. My cycles are 28 days and still are however longer around 9 days after prostrap and very painful even previous to my op. They wanted to surpress me until nov this year when we get ivf again as to lower the amount of endo and cysts but instead i decided to take neither and try our luck for a few months, we never had the chance to try natural after op as success can be slightly higher. Also not sure if you have had thyroid checked but if havent get checked i never knew had thyroid problem not many do, was borderline but a big factor in my fertility issues with the endo etc too. Im on high strength vitimin D. Folic and eating plently of avacodos. Good luck to you fingers crossed for this month and if not try not to lose hope there is always another chance. X

You are an actual angel.

I really needed this today.

I’ve not had my thyroid check but I will definitely mention it.

I’m lost for words at your kindness.

I hope we both get the happy endings we deserve xxxx
