Hi all,

I just wondered how long it took you to get pregnant after you had surgery to remove the endo?

Thanks

I've had two surgeries (12 months apart). I needed IVF to conceive, but got my positive 8 months after my second surgery. X

Congratulations! I was trying after my first surgery but unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks. I am having my second surgery as the endo returned really quickly (less than a year to return!) so I am hoping after second surgery, I will be able to fall pregnant x

Hey hun,

I had my surgery in Nov 2017 (age 27) it took a few months for my period to come back as I had to have the depo injection for 3 months prior to my surgery to make the surgery easier (something to do with the blood flow). I fell pregnant in July 2018 but it ended up being a missed misscarriage at 8 weeks, but then I fell pregnant again thank the Lord in Nov 2018 and I am now currently pregnant, so it took about 1 year on and off trying. I had a lot of faith in God and praying helped me loads, as my endo was really bad on my left side I had stage 3/4 endometriosis and everything was stuck together (bowels, uterus, pouch of Douglas) and I had a really large endo cyst they had to remove. I am so grateful to God and my surgeon. Have faith and everything will work out for you xx

Thank you so much for this message. I’m currently on the depo injection. They want to fit the coil during my operation but I don’t think it’s a good idea, as I think if I wait until everything is “perfect” to try and have children it may be to late, as my endo comes back very quickly and aggressively.. I pray every day that I will be able to have children naturally. I hope things work out for me, like they did for you. Congratulations and I hope you give birth to a beautiful and healthy baby. Good luck with everything! X

Hi Olivia,

I've had 2 surgeries to remove stage 4 endo, the most recent being November 2017. I had the Mirena coil fitted during that surgery, and had it removed a year later in November 2018 to start trying for a baby. Much to my shock, I'm now 9 weeks pregnant. It's still early stages of course, but just to let you know it can happen and you just never know. I took prenatal vitamins and adopted a very healthy diet (no caffeine, alcohol) and lifestyle for 3 months prior to getting my coil taken out x

Congratulations! I’m so glad things worked out for you! I am going to order some prenatal vitamins etc and my partner and I have discussed not drinking alcohol whilst trying! So finger crossed. Good luck with everything! X

Hey Olivia, I would request you to go through the Nancy Nook endometriosis education on FB. Sine you plan on going in for a surgery and it will be the right path. There are exicision specialists. So have a look so you can have an informed decision
