Getting pregnant naturally after endo treatment

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis in Jan 2015. At the time, I was only 24 and wasn't thinking about having a baby. I had a laparoscopy and most of the endo tissue was removed and I went on the progesterone only pill as treatment from my lap till August 2018. I'm married and my husband and I have been trying since September last year (almost a year). I had an apt with my consultant in Jan and he said that I shouldn't have an issue conceiving but because of how unpredictable endometriosis is, it could come back. I just want to know if any of you had gone on to conceiving naturally after coming off the pill and how long it took? It's getting harder and harder each month to keep positive and not worry about whether my endo is back or not!

Hello. Just how was the endo tissue removed out of interest?

I believe it was cut away. l've read that people have had laser treatment to remove the tissue.

Hey- I have stage 4 endo and I conceived naturally altho it took me 2 1/2 years. I know how hard it is to stay positive but please do and just keep trying, also try not to think about it too much- I only conceived when we decided to give up to be honest. Good luck xx

I've had 4 surgeries now, between the age of 21 and 27, im now 29. Three surgeries to remove endometriosis from urethra, bowel, a few spots on my ovaries, behind my womb and in the pouch of douglas then my last surgery was to remove two endometriomas one from each ovary, one was tennis ball size and one was a golf ball size.

I had my coil removed in September last year and have been trying with my partner now for almost a year on an off (we moved house so stopped trying for a few months as we needed to do lots of diy to the new house!) But the last two months we have been really trying and still nothing has happened. I am a firm believer that when the time is right we will have a family and with all the house moving and DIY we have had to do its just not been our time, we are almost finished now so we are just hoping it will be our time soon.

I am going back to my consultant in september as i am in agony from ovulation time to period so i am starting to wonder if they will do tests to see about my ovarian reserve and possible more surgery tonsee whats going on inside (the consultant wanted to do surgery 5 months ago to see whats going on but i refused as i couldnt face a 5th surgery!)

I have my fingers crossed it happens for you soon naturally, everyone keeps telling me it wont happen when im stressed...so we went away for a weekend together last weekend to get away from the stress of the house and day to day work.

If you can maybe book a mini break for you and your husband around the time of ovulation and just see where it gpes as mayve being nice and relaxed is exactly what you need to help?

Much love from someone on your shoes, I've also found it helps by thinking positively about other people's pregnancies as none of us know if they had years of struggles to get there and the heartache and pain they may have gone through, its helped me lots instead of being jealous and angry that it isnt me.

Thank you Tanni, thanks so much for sharing your story! I do think stress can really affect our chances. I'm going to take your advise and book a weekend away I can totally understand the feeling of not being able to face more surgery, I hope you don't have to have anymore. lve also got an appointment with my consultant in Oct so hopefully I can find out if my endo is back or not. Like you said, when the time is right it will happen. So glad to have this community as it really helps putting things into perspective. Sending you baby dust xxx
