Mirena coil

I'm 14 years old and I have really painful periods so they suspect endometriosis and PCOS. I had a mirena coil inserted today under general anesthetic but I'm am in so much pain. Hot water bottles, codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen aren't touching it. Lower back pain pelvic and stomach pain and heavy bleeding. If anyone has any idea of what I could try or who to see that would be greatly appreciated.

Have a try with some red tiger balm it's like a hot water bottle on the go 6 quid in Asda, or a tens machine that you can clip to your trousers or skirt 20quid in Lloyds pharmacy, the marina coil didn't do me any good I only had it in a month I feel for you honey ☹️ what did the gynecologist say she was going to do apart from the marina coil are you getting checked out for endometriosis ?? Xx

She said she is going to see how I go on the coil and have a check up in 3 months time but never prescribed me anything afterwards xx

It does seem to me very young for inserting a coil but I’m hoping the doctor knows exactly what he’s/she’s doing. Did they try any other treatment first? I would call the hospital and ask them to recommend what stronger pain killers you can take rather than me give me opinion, I always had mefenamoc acid which is an anti inflammatory tablet. I had some pain with mine and especially the first period after the operation but mine settled down very well and after about six months no pain or bleeding at all. My niece on the other hand didn’t get on with it. I think some people body’s try to reject it.

I saw a peadiatric gynecologist so she was trained in inserting them to teenage girls. How do you know I'd your body is trying to reject it xx

Oh my 14! I’m so sorry you are going through this so young it seems it was given under specialist advise but could you please contact them aswell if it doesn’t subside. cramping is normal after insertion but hopefully it will settle down just keep doing what you are doing or see if you can have stronger meds .such a sad situation that you have this when I look at my son being 14 you have your whole life ahead of you hopefully the coil will help and it won’t impact on you too much

Yes I was told it was either try lots of different pills (they all make me really ill) or to have to coil fitted and see how I go with this then decide if I need a laparoscopy. I'll make sure to contact them if it doesn't get any better. Thank you again xx
