Im 20 and have just been diagnosed with endometriosis from a laparoscopy. I’m now waiting to see the urologist and then awaiting an operation but there’s a 6 month wait. I’m not meant to have a period as I’m on the mini pill. But I have come on my period and it’s so heavy going through 10 night pads during the day and 5 over night. The pain is horrendous and I’m passing huge blacky red blood clots (sorry if that was too much info lol). I’ve been taking 2 X 15mg of Codiene every 4 hours like the doctor said, but it’s just not cutting the pain. I’m constantly in and out of the toilet feeling like I’m going to wet myself and then only a little comes out. Just wondered if this is all normal? And how you all cope with the pain ? And the feeling of needing a wee all the time

Hey love. I don’t necessarily have any advice, but I just want to let you know that I’m also 20, and was in the exact same place as you a few months ago. I had a lap, the wait times were quite good for me at 3 months... it’s a tough wait and it’s really not ‘normal’ or ‘okay’ for you or anyone to feel like this! I really feel for you, this disease is so unfair 😔
Keep pushing with the doctors!! Keep going and complaining to them, keep calling them, you deserve better and to be taken seriously. It’s tough but I pray you’ll get your answers and relief sooner rather than later because it’s so, so horrible.. especially this young when we feel like we need to constantly be living our best lives xxxx
Thankyou so much hun! It’s so nice to know that I’m not the only one at this age. And the symptoms and problems are the same with some one else. Ill keep pushing my GP as he seems to overlook things. But my consultants are absolutely brilliant. Seeing the urologist in 2 weeks hopefully that helps. If you ever need a chat or anything you can give me a reply on here and I’ve got you xxxxx
How soon after your lap are you ? Both my laps have played up my bladder, I've had retention straight after surgery followed by lack of control. My first lap it lasted about 4 months, but my 2nd lap was 6 months ago and my bladder still screwed. I'm 35 though so much older!
Hi lovely, my lap was in November so 3 months. Oh chris hun that’s a long time! I literally feel like I’m going to wet myself all the time and sometimes there’s hardly anything that comes out. I’m seeing the urologist soon hopefully that helps. This may be a bit personal but so you ever wee a lot of blood? And when I’m on period I get big blood clots. Thankyou so much for your help. Xxxxx
Yeah it's been a while. I get the feeling I need to go but then almost nothing there. I haven't had any blood in my pee though, I do probably need to see someone about it but I'm just so fed up of hospitals! Hope they get to the bottom of it for you x
Hey I’m 21 and when they finally took me seriously they discovered I had a ovarian cyst as well. They still said it would be 4 months wait for surgery but my pain got so bad I eventually had to call an ambulance one night. Which got them to do my surgery as an emergency. Sometimes I would feel that my gp was just ignoring me every time which was frustrating and it wasn’t until I called the ambulance that they took my condition seriously! Xx
