I desperately need some wise words. I’m a long term endo sufferer and had 4 ops previously. I’ve been in the chemical menopause for the last 6 months and suffer pretty horrendous side effects.
I was hospitalised over the weekend due to a flare up (I’ve got severe stage with bowel endo etc) and they kept me in. I’ve been waiting for months for surgery and last week I was due to have a further op (right sided hydrosalpinx and massive Endometriomas). Long story short I had a preop and they refused to operate. I’ve always suffered high blood pressure but was told I was too young to have the condition!!! Now they’re saying that it’s too high 200/110 and they’ve put me on meds to bring it down.
Problem is the pain is unbearable...I’m on tramadol, morphine, ibuprofen, cocodomol etc. The pain is making my blood pressure stay up and they’re monitoring it over the next few months with the aim of getting it down. I have to provide separate readings spaced weeks apart proving its normal. In the meantime I keep getting admitted into hospital. It’s a never ending cycle and I have developed severe depression...my quality of life is non existent. I’m 37. Couldn’t have kids because of endo. Cant have sex without severe pain. Terrible hot flushes. Massive weight gain. Oh what’s the bloody point??? Feel like I’m fighting for treatment all the goddamn time..

Ok, get acupuncture or Shiatsu from a good practitioner to sort out pain and energy levels (this can sort your high blood pressure too). Try CBD oil (slowly build up) to help with inflammation and pain. Consider THC too.
The chemical menopause doesn't make Endo disappear and can have horrible side effects (it I.e. can permanently damage your ovaries). You need a second opinion or even third or fourth..., find an Endometriosis Excision Surgeon. If they don't take you serieus then they simply can't give you the care you need. Good luck!
I was on BP tabs and after research did a test for sleep apnoea, had other symptoms, headache, snoring etc. After a month or so on treatment BP down and no tablets.
It did go up before op, but showing home readings on an app helped.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been through similar trying to get high blood pressure treated as I’m “too young” so it kept getting brushed off as white coat syndrome aka anxiety. I had to buy a blood pressure monitor for home so I could confirm that the readings were consistent before they would investigate.
If they haven’t already, ask your gp to do a 24 hr bp monitor. Most meds don’t seem to work for my bp as I have a condition called hyperandrenergic postural tachycardia syndrome. We’ve finally found a drug called clonidine that is working for my bp and I can get back to normal worries about my endo being taken seriously.
I hope you find answers. If you can, try and get your own bp monitor for home so you know what’s going on at least. Omron is a good brand and not too pricey, go for an arm not wrist one as they are more accurate.
