Excision photos

Morning all,

I’ve just had my first excision surgery and when I came round I noticed they’d taken photos during the surgery. I was just wondering if this is normal?

Thanks in advance

Lisa

Thanks for your quick reply! I was going to ask to see them but I was feeling a bit nauseous at the time and I can be a bit squeamish with that sort of stuff! Glad to hear it’s the norm anyway, I was worried it was because they’d found something!

I’ve got a follow up in 5 weeks so I’ll be interested to hear what they found.

How long were you symptom free for after your surgery? I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much as I know it can be hit or miss

Im sure if you just ask they'll show you, it doesn't look as bad as you think. From what I can remember mine just looked like black masses of tissue.

Literally a month free until my next period then it all just came back, I have cysts also so I think that's why it started so soon. My last op was nearly two years ago.

Is this your first one? X

Oh no that must have been so disheartening. This is my first surgery and I’ve not got any cysts that I’m aware of x

It is but I was sort of expecting it, I didn't have a follow up he dischargos me straight after.

Im seeing a new gyne today.

Hope you get definite answers at yor follow up, take it steady and don't push yourself, do things in your own time. Plenty of rest x

Yes 100% normal, they should always take photos during a lap
