Zoladex / HRT - HELP / Experience

Hey There,

I have written a few posts on here before, Just wondered of anyones experience of Zoladex / HRT, then surgery to remove ovary - early menopause. I am bit of a palaver and so up and down, I have had a huge amount of surgery since 2011 and I am lucky i have one beautiful boy. some of the surgery has been really complex, last year it attacked my Bladder / ureter and led to kidney damage and one ovary removed, this knocked me totally for about 8mths and i said to myself never no more surgery. Silly me thought yes it will be ok after this lot of surgery! Well its not, i keep hoping and fighting but i think I am done with the fight to keep my final ovary!

I tried cerazette after my op, that was awful, i couldn't cope kept bleeding and my mental health took a very bad downturn I tried but failed had to come off it. Had the coil in the past didn't really help it just kept growing!

Next option for me, which for ages i was so against and now i am thinking this is my way to a better quality of life is - injections - Zoladex 6mths with HRT if this helps take final ovary out. I am scared but i cannot go on like this, my periods are hell, i am in bad pain from day 1 until day 16 then maybe for a few days i feel ok, still in pain but lower then my period comes day 18-20, my cycle is getting shorter and migraines are awful, i feel sick and the pain is everyday but some days so bad i am on tramadol and various other meds. I try to do everything from eating clean, exercise, alternative therapies but i am still where i am. I know one day i will go through the menopause its natural part of life!

Any experiences welcomed i am going bonkers! xx

I love zoladex. It changed my life for the better. Minimal pain. Completely happy again! No mood swings or hormone rages. I’d say give it a go before you dismiss it.

I’d say the only side effect i have had is bad memory like most older women but it’s mainly names haha I’m 29 and have been on it for coming up 2 years now.

Zoladex worked amazing for me- completely no endo symptoms. Unfortunately I developed high blood pressure which was treated with tablets. I am now off zoladex. Plus weight gain is a side effect too .

I’m just going into my fourth month on zoladex & HRT. I’m also taking gabapentin which has been a life saver.

I was having excruciating pains for months but have now had 6 weeks with only minor flare ups. It’s definitely worth a try. My moods are fine but the tablets make me forgetful but at least I’m pain free!

good luck x
