I got my first shot of Zoladex on Monday and within 5 days I'm having acne breakouts, horrible flare up of Endo with more pain etc, migraines, night sweats that keeps waking me up, my bowels can't stop working and hurts a lot, horrible mood swings, and all this during my period.
I will be on zoladex for 4-6m before surgery for fertility so I won't take any HRT during this time. Any advice on how to manage the initial flare up? And how to manage the menopause symptoms?
Thank you 💟

Hello! I had 10 injections (5 months without HRT). Hot baths with epsom salts, heat packs, ice packs, fan and telling those you interact with what you’re going through so they understand if you seem low/depressed. For the insomnia, I just try to sleep when I can and don’t guilt trip myself when I can’t.
Regarding the initial flare up, I have no advice because I ended up in the emergency room with a morphine IV. Pain was significantly reduced/gone after the initial flare up.
You will need to check with maybe your doctor or pharmacist but Sage Tablets can help with hot flushes. If you are UK based you can get them in Boots usually on offer three for price of two.
Acne I just changed my skincare routine to more gentle products, it’s calming down slowly. I’m on shot 2, without HRT I feel tired and bloated after and just ride the insomnia wave. Good luck
Insomnia is awful I’ve reduced my coffee intake to only morning as I was getting reliant on it to keep me going. Yes I was taking the sage tablets every day. I’ve stopped now to see if they have calmed down the flushes so far so good!
I stopped taking my combined pills few days after the Zoladex injection by doctor's order. I had same symptoms, infact worse. My doctor explained that it was withdrawal symptoms(because I stopped the pills) coupled with menauposal symptoms(because of the Zoladex). So I advise you talk to your doctor and explain your concerns. Above all relax and enjoy life dear🥰Find coping mechanisms that helps your body and everything will take it's natural course. Stay positive.
I wasn't on contraceptive pills. So it's just the flare up. I'm positive things will get better after a month and I'll probably just have the zoladex menopause symptoms.
My period have finally ended so most of the pains have subsided, which is good.
I used to take herbal sleeping pills - valium based, and primrose oil. It helped a bit with mood swings and hot flushes. Or maybe my body just got used to it? I was on prostap for 6 long months...
I guess it was 1000 a day. The pills are quite big and tricky to get down. Prostap has a massive impact on me. I go mad. Hopefully your waiting list won't be too long x
