Had my diagnostic lap yesterday, and the fact I'm writing this at 4:15am probably suggests how recovery is going š
I'm so so so upset and disappointed as I have been told that all was clear, absolutely no signs of endo. They inserted a mirena whilst I was under and said that should hopefully help with my pains. I'm not convinced.
My consultant told me she would be making 3 or 4 incisions to get a good look, but when I woke up I only have 2 and it sounds as though she only inspected the overies, uterus and bladder. I can't help but doubt that she's missed something and it's driving me mad. Where do you go from here? š
Thanks in advance for any replies, they are much appreciated ā¤ļøš

Just a thought to ask for an MRI if you haven't already that's how mine was found. I had scan after scan but the MRI is much more detailed that how mine was found. And yes ask for a specialist. I am currently seeking a specialist general gynaecologists dont seem to understand or agree on the same treatment process!
Relax!! be patient! Give a time to the Mirena!! It will help you for sure.
I have endometriosis, I never underwent surgery or diagnostic laparoscopy because it is sure I have endometriosis because a chocolate cyst in my ovary is seen by ultrasounds.
It depends on the person, but quite probably the best way to treat endometriosis is by inserting the Mirena and avoid surgery. I have been on the mirena for around 3 years and I have no symptoms. You should avoid any kind of surgery, if possible, a lot of people get scar tissue after surgeries which brings lot of problems. Trust on you doctor and give a time to the Mirena.
Also, sometimes endometriosis is very difficult to detect even undergoing a laparoscopy. Probably the did not found anything, but if did the right thing by inserting you the Mirena. Give a time to the mirena 6months-1 year. Trust in your doctor.
And well, yes, look for an endometriosis specialist. But, keep in mind is very nice you already have the Mirena. My doctor is an endometriosis specialist. He told me the best approach to follow is to avoid every surgery and give a try to the Mirena. It worked
