I had laparoscopic surgery on September 2018. I asked laparoscopic surgery picture or video. My doctor didn't show me. Tell me the patients have any rights to see video and pictures. I need pictures and video because i will go to another gynecologist doctor and my doctor told me utreus sticking with intestine. My family doesn't accepted this sticking conditions.

If you go to your GP and mention that your specialist won't let you see the photos / videos then quite often they can request them from your specialist.

I would perhaps as a first point contact your specialists secretary asking for copies of the photos / videos and see what they say.

It is your data / information so you are allowed it legally, however some specialists know these can be used to see another specialist so may refuse on that basis; you'll need to really mention that you want it for your records.

A different specialist may request any information / photos from your current specialist directly or they may want to start afresh first.

My doctor didn't have any secretary. My second gynecologist doctor Saying photo and video are not need to treat endo. She did not saw mri scan report and she saw only mri description written by radiology department. I say to doctor see the mri scan. But she didn't. Second gynecologist doctor didn't ask photo to my first gynecologist doctor because prestige issues. Any rules in hospital records the photo and video during surgery. I'm from Asia.

Hi there, usually hospitals have a records department. Call up the hospital and request to speak to the department that holds patients records. Under GDPR you are allowed to request for all records the hospital holds on you. You will be asked to present proof of who you are, once done they will provide you with this information. I did that as my diagnostic lap was done by a general gyno and needed the specialty to have my info and I was sent pictures of what was done.

Good luck x

You need to make a formal subject access request under the Data Protection Act. You can download guidance (pdf) below:

Hi, I had a laparascopic surgery before. My dr gave me a cd that it was my surgery film. Without my request fır it he gave it to me. Besides of this there is no reason that your dr dosent give it to you. You can want it , just say that I newd to consult with other doctors to be sure about my healthy 🙄 and this is none of your dr business 😌

Under new GDPR rights you have the right to see any and all information on you. If you go to your NHS trust website, they will have forms for you to download and fill in, you will then be sent the images and videos on disk. You can use this point to ask for ALL information held on you, which will get you copy of all of your records from thehospital too.
