I was diagnosed with endometriosis a few months ago. I have visited many doctors before that, and no one knew what was the reason behind my heavy painful periods. My symptoms started when i was 18 years old, so that’s 13 years ago! Now, i am trying to find out what treatment might be best. I tried contraceptive pills for a few months, but there was no improvement and my depression became worse. So i was wondering if a laparoscopic surgery is the best option to stop the symptoms from happening?
My symptoms include: heavy long periods, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, sharp pain during periods, bloated stomach, fatigue, dizziness during periods from the heavy bleeding.
It would mean a lot to me if i get support. My GP has emailed the gynaecologist team, but i still have not heard back for an appointment. It is disappointing how much time do we need to wait to just get a consultation appointment.

Sorry you are n so much pain, not easy dealing with this disease.
Hormone treatments sometimes work, didn’t for me with Zoladex, that’s the monthly injection. Surgery has helped some of my pain, but you need to make sure you have a surgeon who knows what they are doing. When were you referred? You can contact the gynae team and see where your referral is in the ‘list’, I put it that way as really lists depend on how urgent referral was from GP. Your GP can try and speed things up.
Your GP can give you stronger meds if need be, Naproxen is a stronger form of ibuprofen, although normally given with omeprazole to prevent ulcers, Diclofenac suppositories are very good for pelvic pain. Does the GP know you take ibuprofen regularly? They may still suggest omeprazole. A non opioid is Nefopam.
Mine got a bit complicated as I left it for a very long time, I also ended up with a chronic gallbladder, pelvic pain is better than it was after hysterectomy but still get a lot of abdominal pain, don’t go by what I’ve been through
