I have a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow and I'm really nervous. I only had my first smear this year and had a panic attack - I'm so worried that the scan is going to hurt.
Would be really grateful to know peoples honest experiences and what to expect.
Thank you x

I always struggle with smears due to having a cervix that is really sensitive basically so I get pain, and pass out.
But I had a transvaginal ultrasound and it was fine, no pain or anything. Just let them know that your nervous and they can talk you through it. The transvaginal ultrasound wand is alot smaller than a speculum used for a smear test, and doesn't go in as far etc.
Bless u- the thought is deffo worse that the action! Much easier than a smear. You just have to be very relaxed and it should glide in. Keep breathing throughout ie don’t stiffen up and hold your breath and it should be done with within a minute x
Like others have said it is much better than a smear test. I’ve never felt any pain and the doctor/nurse doing it has always gone really slow and talked me through everything they’re doing. 🙂
I have stage 2 endo and hyperventilate everytime I see a speculum. I avoid vaginal ultrasounds and pap smears as much as possible and only get them once every 2-3 years. I thank God I don't have cysts or nodules, only endo on the utero-sacral ligaments and adhesions attaching my ovaries to my uterus
