I need some advice. I was advised by my consultant about starting prostap injections for the pain. After reading a few things i saw a doctor today and rejected this course of medication due to concerns about its side effects.. not sure what is going to happen now. Im worried that the consultant may give up on me

Advice try it! I am about to go on it. If your that bad and have done everything else, what can you do. I am not happy about having it I have been crying and depressed for 2weeks about going on it but I can’t do anything else there’s no other option for me xxx
I had Prostap injections last year after refusing to have them previously. Just like with any form of medication, everyone’s experience is different and unfortunately for me it was horrendous. I wished I’d stuck to my initial decision but I was at wits end and caved to try anything that might reduce the pain and to try what the consultant suggested.
Make sure you read up on all the side effects that are possible because some consultants only give you the more common ones and to be honest these were the ones I found mentioned often in my own search.
I’ve refused it this time round for my next surgery and it wasn’t pushed.
If you try it, at least you’ve compromised with your consultant and if it doesn’t agree with you you’re free to decline the next injection.
I was concerned about having the prostap injection after reading all the side effects but decided to try it for 6 months before my next operation. I had my first injection 4 and a half weeks ago and so far the pain hasn’t been any better but no worse even. I’m feeling more tired than normal and I’ve had a few more hot flushes than usual as I’m already on tablets to control them. Mentally I’m easily stressed and short tempered and feel a bit fuzzy headed but that’s about it so far. I’d say try it everyone reacts differently
Hello
You have a right to say no if you decide its not for you. Your consultant also can't withold other options such as more surgery just because you said no to this. Some bad Dr's may say we'll unless you try it I won't do the surgery, if they do complain it's your body so it's your choice as to what gets put it in.
Also FYI in the UK it should only be used for a maximum of 6 months for endo, generally before an operation to remove endo etc.
Are you in the UK? I saw from a previous post that endo was found on your bowel and bladder. Are you being seen by a bsge gynecologist? You can Google bsge and check the hospital you're at and check if the gynecologists you're under is listed. Due to where it was found you should only be treated by these centres in the UK as they are specialist centres with a multidisciplinary team.
