I haven’t been diagnosed with endometriosis but having been back and forth to the doctor and researched it myself for years and years, I’m convinced I do. Would anyone be willing to let me talk them through my symptoms to see if any of you are going through the same? Speaking with a GP on the topic of periods is like talking to a brick wall. If you could drop me a message, I’d be most grateful. Thanks ladies!

Hi, I haven't been diagnosed formally yet, but I am speaking to my GP. He has mentioned Endo at my last 2 appointments and I'm keeping an eye on symptoms/medication before turning to surgery. If you're finding it hard to get heard at your GP, can you get a second opinion? Can you get an appointment with another GP at your practice? Happy to chat symptoms if you'd like to.
I have seen a couple of different doctors, the last was the best one as he sent me for a pelvic ultrasound but didn’t follow up when they came back clear. I’m thinking I may ask directly for a referral to gynaecology for a second opinion from them as I know my body and it’s not right! Thank you for your help, and hope you get the help/diagnosis you need!
Hi!
I’m due back at gynocologist next week as they suspect I have endo. Next step will be laparoscopy to see what’s going on and get proper diagnosis. Honestly my GP was the same I was back and forward for 8months, 3 clear scans an pain getting worse and worse. They were looking at everything but the possibility of something like endo (mostly I think because it mimics so many other conditions) it was a process of elimination, but I had some terrible gps who didn’t take me seriously at all which was infuriating. Ask to be referred to gynaecologist, if they resist dont accept no for an answer.
My symptoms have been pain on my lower rhs pelvis and can get really intense and spreads up to my waist, get stabbing pains through my back and bum too, like nerve pain. Then shoots down my leg.
Pain is worse week before period for me. Pain after sex (sorry to much info lol) But it flares up in the days after something terrible. Internal scans are painful and I’ve started to feel that pain on normal day to day basis. Also pee like crazy when it ‘flares’ up too. I hope this helpsXx
I’m having all of those symptoms too! Massive help, thank you so much. Yes, think I’m going to force a referral to gynae. Might sound odd but I’m getting stabbing pains in and around my period up kind of where my cervix is, and the peeing this too, I’ll have a pee and almost immediately get the urge to need another one. Thank you so much, massive help! Xx
Yup I get the cervix thing too! Please don’t let up on them, after my 3 clear scans they were dragging their heels with me, even ended up in A and E the pain was so bad. Doctor there told me keep shouting till your heard, he said i needed the referral to gynae for answers. It can feel so demoralising when GPs don’t listen, don’t be frightened to tell them you think it’s endo. Most GPs haven’t got a clue about it so they need to refer you to someone who does. Good luck let me know how it goes!!!xxxx
It is totally demoralising, I understand they’ve got people to see etc but it’s awful when you feel like you aren’t being taken seriously. Yes, when the pain is at it’s worse I struggle to breathe/move! I’ll definitely have to start pushing them harder. I will do, thank you very much!! Good luck with your upcoming appointments! Xxx
I've been suffering for 10 years, I've had a few scans that came back clear. Finally had an internal scan and was referred to a gynaecologist! Will be going Monday and hopefully will be going in the right direction to get a diagnosis. I completely sympathise with you, I have been made to feel totally demoralised by my GP over the years, but you just need to trust yourself and your knowledge of your body and keep fighting!
Thank you! Best of luck with your appointment on Monday, and fingers crossed they help to diagnose you. The support on here has been amazing and certainly spurred me back on to get my diagnosis, never realised so many people could be in the same boat and have been ignored for years by GPs!
