Hi all I’m recently going through the long painful journey to officially get a diagnosis, and waiting on a long list to be seen by gyno.
however as my symptoms are getting progressively worse and would like to know if anyone else has experienced this? I am due to be seen again by my GP within this next month but would just like a little reassurance that I’m not going crazy before I’m inevitably going to be ignored.
Within the last few months post period I have been experiencing a quite bad smell, I can only describe as like rotting flesh hygiene is very important to me and along with all the pain this is also causing me more stress. This only happens after my period and is a relatively new symptom which I haven’t changed anything to cause this and have been unable to have any intimacy for a very long time now so isn’t that either
I was just wondering if this is a common thing to happen with endo or if it’s something else that I should be concerned about?
thank you in advance

Hallo! I had that experience - there was a horrible rotting smell following me around but only I could smell it. Turns out, I had an endometrioma (an ovarian cyst full of blood), a type of endometriosis.
It would be interesting if any scans (trans vaginal ultrasound, or MRI) detect any cysts.
Hey thank you for this I have already been scanned and have got a hemorrhagic cyst around 5 or so cm so maybe it is that! I have got another GP follow up so I will bring it up to them as obviously they don’t think the cyst I have is problematic at the moment so interesting to know! Thank you so much
I had a similar issue, as part of the investigations into my gynae issues the dr took a swab and it came back as bacterial vaginosis. No idea how I got it as I’m always careful with hygiene etc, I had a course of antibiotics and bought some pessaries from the chemist and it was sorted out no problem. It might be something to consider.
I also have a polyp in my uterus so not sure if that has anything to do with it
