I haven't had any pain killers for back pain, but the most fast action pai. relief I got for back pain and I mean severe back pain was deep hear spray. Omgd it has worked wo does for me. I only need to spray it on my lower back once and that's me done for the whole day. It's better to out it soon as you come out the shower when your pores are open so when you do spray it can lock into the pores. Good luck. x

The codeine is for my general period pains but this back pain has been for over a week now and had enough so just took it! Maybe I will try deep heat! I tried heat pads, a roll on heat thing I bought in Hong Kong, hot water bottle, everything 😖 I will give deep heat a go too, willing to try anything at this stage! Thank you x

yes I know what you mean, hot water bottles used to be my best friends but for back pain they don't touch it at all. Definitely give deep heat a try,its around £4-5 pounds from all supermarket and pharmacy. I applied it once a day for 4 days and not had any pain since. Luckily just started my physio sessions from today so my back is quiet sore from the deep massage. Good luck and let us know how you get on. x

The only thing that really got rid of mine was indometacin when it wasn’t so bad and tramadol when it was really bad.

You should ask your doctor for a referral to a pain management specialist to put you on the best painkillers for the pain

I do and the best that has worked for me is going to the physio twice a moth along with a good diet, avoiding red meat and other foods that can cause more inflammation , the pain hasn’t gone completely for me but I have noticed a big difference. I have used tiger balm which is also a deep heat balm but I wouldn’t abuse of these products, to me the way I eat and try plenty of rest is the key, try different things

1) Chiropractic

2) Moving (light walking) for at least 40 minutes everyday and avoiding to sit for more than 8 hours and never more than 1 hour straight without getting up and stretching

Sometimes a magnesium spray (oil) can help if your muscles are in spasm.

Failing that, if it's really insanely bad I use voltarol gel (which has diclofenac so don't use more than stated amount) and if you can as well as everything else (hot water bottle, baths, medication etc) do some lower back stretches until you find one that works for you

I'm having this right now! I have a desk job but luckily work from home- I have to keep getting up and moving or I will just seize up.

I usually use ibuprofen gel - but i think it's in the drawer under the bed and I can't get down there ☹

Yes. Chronic back pain was my main symptom which meant my Endo went undiagnosed until everything else was ruled out. The pain killers only work for a short time. Hopefully the codeine will take the edge off. I always try to decrease the dosage after 3 days. I’ve been on various chronic pain killers but they only worked for a few weeks then stopped. My pain is most manageable when I’m walking everyday and doing stretches up to 3 times a day. I’m also trying to follow the Endo elimination diet (no red meat, limited caffeine, limited alcohol, no gluten and no diary) which I think helps after a few weeks. Unfortunately I’ve now got an endometrioma cyst so I’m too scared to walk for fear of aggravating it and causing it to rupture (again - was hospitalised a couple of weeks ago and needed morphine for 2 days 😒) I take my hot water everywhere.

Be careful using things like deep heat and ibroprofen gels ect I used them and I thinned the skin on my back I’m now not allowed to touch them just be careful xx

For me a hot water bottle makes it bearable but only for a short period xx
