Decapeptyl or laparoscopy

Hi, first post here,

I haven't been diagnosed as of yet, however I do have most of the endometriosis symptoms. I also have pcos.

I have been referred to a gynaecologist and have been given the option of decapeptyl injections for 6 months or a laparoscopy but she said this is high risk.

I haven't seen much about the decapeptyl injections, but obviously the only way to diagnose is a laparoscopy, so I'll have to have one anyway?

I suppose I'm looking for some advice as to what to do. I do want to go back to the doctors to ask to be referred to a specialist, is this something that they could do?

Thankyou

It's not much of a choice is it? I think they now realise that endo has no cure and try to manage the symptoms without surgery.

For me decapeptyl gave me 4 years of feeling pretty OK. It's not the easiest drug in the world to tolerate but it did really help me.

Surgery for me would always be the last resort, having had 2 operations I would give the injections a shot first. Good luck xxxx
